To continue our year of celebrating all forms of queer media, this month we’re turning our attention to another monumental haven for queer fandom that embraces LGBTQIA+ characters and storylines.

But wasn’t always like this. Videos used to be a “boys only” club where it was rare to find a queer character in any lineup. So just like with film, we found our own meanings in the games we loved and wrote ourselves into their worlds.

So whether you found yourself falling for the real (or imagined) relationships between the sexiest adventurers of all time or always chose the one female character in the fighting games, you’re going to have a great time with this lineup.
